What your assistant can do
Summarize any YouTube video
Paste a link in chat. Bite reads the transcript and returns a quick summary, timestamped sections, key takeaways and actionable insights, saved to your library.
Ask the video a question
Answers come from the full transcript, not just the summary, so you get the exact figure, quote or step the speaker mentioned.
Search your library
Everything you summarize in the app or in chat lands in one place. Ask your assistant to find that talk about pricing from last month.
Same account, same credits
The connector uses your Bite account. Summaries cost 0.6 credits per minute of video, a question costs 1 credit, and existing summaries are free to re-read.
Try saying
- “Summarize https://youtu.be/… and give me the three most useful takeaways.”
- “What exact dose did he recommend in that video? Check the transcript.”
- “Find my Bite summary about pricing from last month and draft a LinkedIn post from it.”
- “How many Bite credits do I have left?”
Frequently asked questions
What is this, exactly?
A remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. MCP is the open standard Claude, ChatGPT and most AI tools use to call outside services. Connecting Bite gives your assistant five tools: summarize a video, list your summaries, read one, ask it a question and check your credits.
Do I need the Bite app?
No. Sign in on the consent page with Apple, Google or an email link and a Bite account is created for you. The iOS and Android apps use the same account, so summaries made in chat show up there too.
How much does it cost?
Credits come with a Bite More subscription ($6.99 a month or $29.99 a year for 900 credits a month) or a one-time credit pack from $3.99 that never expires. A one-hour video is 36 credits.
Is my data shared with Anthropic or OpenAI?
Your assistant sees what the tools return: the summary text, your library titles and your credit balance. Bite never shares your account or purchase details with the assistant, and you can disconnect at any time from its connector settings.
Why is the server at api.takeabite.ai?
That's Bite's API host. The /mcp path is the MCP endpoint and the OAuth sign-in lives next to it, which is what lets clients register themselves without an API key.
